We have seen that there are many crossovers between being gender non-conforming, trans or non-binary and being neurodivergent.
Many trans people realise, at one point or another, that they have had similar life experiences to those who are neurodivergent. Similarly, it is not uncommon for neurodivergent people to question whether their gender really fits into the binary construct of “man” or “woman”.
Being both neurodivergent and gender non-conforming can make navigating the society we live in tricky and confusing.
Both of these things are also an incredible gift and neurodivergent trans people should be supported to thrive.
Practical Wisdom is hosting two free webinars, funded in part by the Principality Building Society, to support neurodivergent non-binary and trans people.
The first is a session around Understanding ADHD for non-binary folk, which will take place at 7pm, on Wednesday 31 January.
This session will touch on some of the key areas of ADHD, how it can affect the lives of non-binary people and general tips on how to manage when life, feelings and relationships get a bit chaotic.
The second session is around Neurodiversity and wellbeing for Trans folk, which will take place at 7pm, on Wednesday 07 February.
This session will discuss general neurodiversity, be it ADHD, ASD or others, and tips for trans people on self-care and maintaining wellness.
Even if you can’t attend, please do sign up – we will send you a replay after the event of the workshop part only. (The Q&A will not be recorded to protect the privacy of participants).
To sign up to either of these sessions, or both, please use the registration form(s) below.
Although both webinars are free to join, we would ask that you consider making a donation towards this indiegogo campaign.
The project aims to create a feature film following the story of Ray and his 18 month process of going through Gender Reassignment Surgery.
Below is a short trailer, and the website to donate can be found here.
