Behind Practical Wisdom is a passionate and diverse team of professionals dedicated to helping individuals and organisations thrive. Our team brings together expertise from healthcare, mental health, coaching, education, movement therapy, and holistic wellbeing, united by a shared commitment to supporting neurodivergent people and those navigating life’s challenges.

 

Many of us bring not only professional experience but also lived experience, allowing us to offer practical, compassionate support that is grounded in real understanding. Together, we combine our knowledge, skills and perspectives to create supportive spaces where people can learn, grow and discover strategies that work for them.

Founder of Practical Wisdom, not-for-profit organisation, a public speaker for neurodiversity and trauma informed approach.

Co-founder of ADHD Amigos, a Brighton based social group, trustee for ADHD aware and Joyfully Different – supporting neurodiverse business leaders. Has ADHD & dyslexia who became a best selling co-author, penning another book as we speak!

Initially from Kent (they were that SEN child with poor school grades), getting into nursing on an entrance test! Now one of the most senior nurses in the country, part of the national team twice, currently Clinical Director and pioneer leading the way for trans health equality. Also CD for trauma informed approach, especially important as they are a parent to an adopted child and given the cross over with neurodiversity.

Leanne Naylor

RMN, BSc, Hypnotherapist, ASC/ADHD screener & ASC assessor.

A qualified mental health nurse, able to do ASC screening assessments, and an experienced CYPMHS practitioner and lead. Also qualified in NLP, hypnotherapy, and rapid transformational therapy. She has supported and led group courses and workshops relating to Autism and anxiety. These included teaching skills and knowledge based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.

At present, the lead mental health clinician for a new service within generic Children’s and young people services (CYPMHS), in which they will be leading a new team to support those young people with co- morbid mental health issues in addition to any neurodivergent diagnosis/symptoms. Also an entrepreneur and sleep consultant.

Rewire NPT - Applied Movement Neurology and Z Health (world leader in movement therapy).

Through his company Rewire Neuro Dynamics, James works to improve both mental and physical well-being through movement. With a career spanning over two decades, James began his movement journey teaching gymnasts and circus artists to hit their physical peaks, but found that peak physical training often came at a cost to mental health. With training from Z Health Performance Solutions and the Academy of Applied Movement Neurology, James now uses a brain-first approach to improve both physiological and psychological issues.

Clare is a holistic practitioner and qualified Medical Herbalist with over 20 years of experience.

Herbal medicines treat the root cause of a problem, instead of patching over the effect, working in harmony with the body, alongside modern medicines, which, when used correctly, can balance and complement each other.

Licensed Life Coach, Educator and Outdoor Facilitator

It is Sarah-Jayne’s mission to offer a space which encourages knowledge of self to help you heal and grow. From exploring the world, gaining a BA Hons in Childhood and Youth Studies as well as a Master’s in Psychology, to setting up a successful well-being business over the past 3+ years, Sarah-Jayne has worked within educational, therapeutic and corporate settings – children to retired adults. 

Sarah-Jayne believes that our daily lives represent the respect we have for ourselves, others and our surroundings – look after you, and you will be able to look after others.

Lynn Collins

Lynn Collins

Lynn is a qualified supervisor with an Effective Coaching qualification and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, as well as a qualified nurse with an MSc in Health and Education.

She is passionate about creating spaces where people can grow, feel confident, and truly thrive, whether through coaching, facilitation, or designing learning experiences that make a meaningful impact. As a subject lead in education and development, Lynn has led initiatives that have strengthened confidence and capability across the NHS, improving care delivery and supporting professional growth.

Her practice is rooted in restorative approaches, inclusive facilitation, and both 1:1 and group coaching. She is a qualified coach trained in resilience-based clinical supervision, reflective peer work, and nature-based practice, using the outdoors to deepen reflection and support well-being.
